Medicine Wheel Kinesiology

Advanced Practitioner Skills for Aboriginal Counsellors (8 hours)

Prerequisite: Touch for Health 2 or Brain Gym 101

This model was designed in 1993 for Round Lake Native Drug and Alcohol Treatment counsellors, Vernon, BC and is based upon their feedback and cultural treatment protocols.

Learn how a First Nation counsellor might integrate a culturally specific Specialized Kinesiology model into their client services using The Medicine Wheel Balance as a personal development tool to support the advance of human potential using the traditional Medicine Wheel.

The Medicine Wheel is a silent teacher that unravels the mysteries of our life journey, motivating the participant to learn through refection upon the wheel. The Medicine Wheel teaches us that there is no end to our journey of the four directions. Our capacity to develop and grow is boundless as we strive to consciously experience the four dimensions of life long learning. The Medicine Wheel also shows us that the four symbolic races are all part of the same human family.

The fundamental value of this ancient tool is a way of measuring our own progress and development, and a means for assessing what we might next challenge on our journey through life. The Kinesiology overlay can simplify the counsellors evaluation process to assist the client in identifying current priorities and suitable pathways of their journey.
